Don’t know if you remember me (Mike Jacoby), but I did the Puddle Jump last year with friends who were cruising on their sabbatical, from the Galapagos to Nuku Hiva, sailing a Outremer 55 Light. Your pictures are wonderful as is this blog. Did you do the hike from Hakaui to the Vaipo falls? I am thrilled to see you out there! Take care, and safe travels!
Greetings:
I’m trying to contact Easy Mike Jacoby. He was on a video with Barry Perrins and from that I learned that Mike was/is planning to sail back to Hood River. He may stop at Astoria, Oregon, I am a writer/photographer from Portland and (I keep my boat at Astoria) I am developing a magazine article on the interesting people that come and go through Astoria. I would most appreciate hearing from him on this matter. Thanks. John Arrufat 503 302 6694
Aloha John… I recently met Mike on the beach of Kauai… and certainly recommend you get together with him. He is planning to leave Hawaii in a couple of weeks and take a month or so getting to Astoria. He could be an entire magazine article… quite the Renaissance Man… Hope it works out for you both…
What can I say – it is really beautiful. What an experience!
